ENGINEERS FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD Annual Conference Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 (San Francisco) Felix Kramer will speak at a 2:30-4PM session on Sustainable Transportation in Climate Change & Practical Action

TECHNOLOGIES SYMPOSIUM February 13-14 (San Diego)­events/­training/­symposia/­hybrid/­ Ron Gremban and others working with CalCars will attend this event.

STATE OF THE VALLEY February 23, 2008 (San Jose) Felix Kramer is among a large lineup of speakers at this Joint Venture: Silicon Valley Network event, described as "Silicon Valley's annual town meeting,."

TED 2008 Conference February 27-March 1, 2008 (Monterey, CA) We hope to have a presence at this pre-eminent (and sold out) conference on "Technology, Entertainment & Design"

CONFERENCE (WIREC 2008) Washington, DC March 3-7, 2008 includes three major co-located events: Ministerial-level Meeting; Business Conference and Trade Show at WIREC; Official Side Events. Watch for more news about a possible plug-in side event. (CalCars' participation not yet determined.)

Geneva, Switzerland, March 11-13 ,2008 held in conjunction with the Geneva International Motor Show, sponsored by AVERE, the European Association for Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles. This conference will include PHEV presentations and news. (Ron Gremban attended last year; CalCars' participation in 2008 not yet determined.)

AUTO FUTURETECH – Summit 2008 March 12 – 14, Vancouver, B.C., Canada We were helped with this description of by Brad Berman of, the event's producer: There’s a strong plug-in thread, with well-known figures such as Andy Frank from UC Davis, Ed Kjaer from Southern California Edison, and the CEOs from batterymakers A123Systems, Compact Power, EnerDel, and Johnson Controls-Saft. Other plug-in presenters include John Waters, the leader of the plug-in practice for Rocky Mountain Institute, and Malcolm Bricklin, founder and CEO of Visionary Vehicles, who just announced a battery partnership with Electrovaya at the Detroit Auto Show. The conference also includes C-level executives from Bosch, Volkswagen, and Chrysler talking about diesels; execs from Tier-1 suppliers Continental, Delphi and Magna discussing their hybrid and plug-in hybrid efforts; and an EV session with Phoenix Motorcars, GEM, and Th!nk. The session of future markets includes Gal Luft from IAGS speaking about energy security, and David Chen, VP of GM China, on market developments in China, among other speakers. There's a session on "smart roads". The style of the presentations will be armchair dialogue with lots of Q & A. On top of it all, Auto FutureTech delegates will have full access to GLOBE 2008, the world's largest conference on Business and the Environment. Keynotes at GLOBE include Rajendra Pachauri, Chairman, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change; and Achim Steiner, Executive Director, United Nations Environment Programme.

GREEN TECHNOLOGY SUMMIT April 7-9, 2008 (Sacramento, CA) CalCars will show a PHEV at this event aimed at elected officials and agency staff at the local and state levels

PACIFIC COAST DREAM MACHINES SHOW Sunday, April 27 Moon Bay Airport. CalCars together with will again have one or more PHEVs on display at the "Green Machines" display at this extraordinary event that attracts tens of thousands of car lovers.

FEDERAL POLICY ON PLUG-IN HYBRIDS June 2007 Washington, DC Conference in development by The Brookings Institution, with support from's RechargeIT.

CONCOURS D'ELEGANCEJune 22, 2008 (Palo Alto) CalCars will show a PHEV from 7AM-4:30PM at the 42nd Annual Palo Alto Concours d'Elegance.

PLUG-IN 2008 CONFERENCE & EXPOSITION: A Short Drive to Tomorrow July 22-24 (San Jose) This inaugural three-day international conference will showcase the latest technological advances, market research and policy initiatives shaping the future of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
