For a second year in a row, tens of thousands of attendees at the San Francisco International Auto Show November 18-26, will be able to see a CalCars plug-in hybrid. The one that will be on view at Moscone Center has just been converted by a group of enthusiastic CalCars/EAA-PHEV volunteers (we'll soon report on that).

In addition to the general viewing times, explaining PHEVs during the show will be Sven Thesen (owner of the new PRIUS+) on Friday after Thanksgiving from 12-2PM, and Marc Geller from Plug In America on Saturday from 2-4PM. (This event is also an opportunity to see a Tesla Motors roadster.)

Hosting the car at the show is the AAA of Northern California's Greenlight Initiative Showcase. (Last year, in addition to our having a car on view, we participated in their Santa Clara to Sacramento alt-fuels car rally.) You can find out about Greenlight at hhttp://www.aaa.com/greenlight, or at a recent Treehugger interview by Eckard Beatty,, http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/11/the_th_intervie_20.php

For details, go to the event's website, http://sfautoshow.com or read the summary below from Moscone Center:

With more than 800 vehicles from over 40 manufacturers, the 2007 edition of the International Auto Show will feature exhibits in Moscone Center's north and south halls and Gateway Ballroom plus the lobby areas. The San Francisco International Auto Show is the number one auto show in the Bay Area and the only auto show held locally that lures the high-tech and dazzling displays from the world's major manufacturers. It is the second largest auto show in the western states and the number one exhibition of any kind in northern California.
