About a third of the nation's 50 largest cities have now signed on as endorsers of Plug-In Partners http://www.pluginpartners.org. From the national campaign's blog, here are the most recent numbers -- if you add these to previous tallies, the total is now over 5,500 vehicles.

Through the leadership of Mayor Richard Daley, the City of Chicago has joined Plug In Partners with a big bang by committing to purchase 850 plug in hybrid vehicles.

Now, as a Plug In Partner, Chicago becomes an important part of the
move toward Plug in Hybrids.
