The Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 South Figueroa Street, Downtown Los Angeles, CA December 1, 2005, 8:30- 4:30

On a day devoted to prompting California action and leadership on transportation energy, a major announcement will be made regarding the formation of a new partnership with the explicit goal of increasing statewide transportation energy efficiency and alternative fuel use. The announcement will come during the second session of CALSTART's "2020: California's Transportation Energy Future" conference, which takes place this Thursday December 1, 2005 at the Los Angeles Convention Center ().

The partnership, comprised of public, private, and non-governmental stakeholders including former U.S. Secretary of State George Shultz, is based upon the principle that by becoming a model state for transportation energy consumption by 2020, California can become more secure, more prosperous, and improve the welfare of its people.
