PHEVs, Vehicle-To-Grid, and Electric Vehicles are on the program at the San Francisco Cleantech Forum, this year from Feb. 19-21. Sponsor Cleantech Venture Network describes the event as one of the world's "premier cleantech investment platforms, providing unparalleled definition, analysis, networking, deal flow and thought-leadership for the rapidly emerging cleantech industry."
We're at a time when mabt investors have their eyes on green-tech/clean-tech opportunities. Both the Alliance Bernstein report (link on CalCars' home page) and the just-published book, Future Energy (see CalCars-News) have been zeroing in on winners and losers in the energy-transportation world. New electric car companies are starting up -- and battery makers are racing to capture the automotive market.
Consumers still don't have the opportunity to transform their hybrids into PHEVs -- which several after-market companies, the EAA-PHEV do-it-yourself project, and our new Lithium-Ion project aim to change http://www.calcars.org/howtoget.html. The conversion market will heat up as soon as car-makers start selling new PHEVs, creating new business possibilities. So it's a good time for CalCars to help investors and opportunities come together at events like this.
CalCars Founder Felix Kramer will speak on Wednesday (the 21st) at a session on "The Future of Transport: Scalable Transportation Technologies and the Smart Grid." Also speaking will be Hal La Flash, Director of Integrated Resource Planning and Policy, PG&E and Jan-Olaf Willums, Chair, TH!NK Electric Car Company (the Norwegian company that's back in business with what was at one time the Ford TH!NK). The session will be chaired by Wilber James, General Partner, RockPort Capital Partners.
